STATEMENT OF FAITH
Our shared beliefs as Christians are as follows:
THE HOLY SCRIPTURES
All scriptures are the infallible, authoritative, sufficient and necessary word of God given to direct all humanity to salvation and obedience to God (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Romans 15:4; 1 John 5:3 and John 14:21).
THE ALMIGHTY GOD
That Jesus Christ is God Almighty the Everlasting Father (Isaiah 9:6). Apart from Him there is no God (Isaiah 45:5-6).
Jesus the Son was human and God. Or simply God in human form before being translated to heaven. I.e. God whom we also know as Father (Colossians 1:14 – 17) created all things including the body Jesus (the Son) and then occupied it. Jesus therefore represents the title or office of Son. Jesus as a human body was conceived out of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary (Isaiah 7:14). Jesus said in John 14:16-17 that he himself (God in that form) will go away and thereafter, God will return in the form of the Holy Ghost, to continually stay with us. Jesus the human body, thereafter died on the cross at Calvary for the sins of mankind. He rose from the dead in His glorified body on the third day, and He ascended into heaven and paved the way for God to return in the form of the Holy Ghost and dwell with the believers permanently (Acts 2: 1-4; John 14:26; 1 Corinthians 3:16 and Romans 8:9-14).
Read John 3:16; Galatians 1:4; 1 Corinthians 15:3; Colossians 3:17; Colossians 1:14-17; I Peter 3:18; Epesians 1:7; John 14:26; Ephesians 4:4-6 and Acts 2.
MANDATE FOR MANKIND
God created mankind in His image and likeness for His own glory, to be fruitful, to multiply, to replenish the earth, to subdue it, and to have dominion over it.
Read Genesis 1:26-29; Ecclesiastes 12:13–14; Proverbs 3:6; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Matthew 22:37-38; Psalm 8:4–6; Psalm 139:13–16 and Psalm 100:2–3.
SALVATION
A gift from God through grace and faith in Christ Jesus. That all who believe in the name of Jesus Christ may be saved by turning from sin to repentance and are born again of Water and Spirit and trusting in His death and resurrection.
Read John 3:3-5, Mark 16:15-17; Acts 1:8; Acts 9:17-18; Acts 10:44, 48; Acts 19:1-6; Romans 12:1-2; Hebrews 12:14; Matthew 5:48; I Peter 1:15-16 and Mark 16:16.
WATER BAPTISM
By immersion in water in the name of Jesus Christ (Mark 16:16, Matthew 28:19 and Acts 2:38).
BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST
Declared by Jesus Christ and fulfilled from the day of pentecost. It is available to all who believe in Jesus Christ.
Read John 1:33; John 3:5; Acts 2:1-4; Acts 10:46–47; Acts 19:6 and I Corinthians 14:39.
HOLINESS
God is holy. He is the Holy Spirit for his character is holy and his nature is spirit (Exodus 15:11; 1 Samuel 2:2; Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:8 and Revelation 15:4; Philippians 3:3; 1 Timothy 1:17). Believers are therefore called to worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24).
We are called to uphold and practice holiness (1 Peter 1:15-16, Leviticus 20:26, Ephesians 5:27, Isaiah 35:8, Acts 24:10-16). Separation from the world unto God (Romans 12:1-3, 2 Corinthians 6:17) which is a life of true holiness is mandated for all followers of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:13–21; Hebrews 12:14-17; 1 John 5:3 and John 14:21).
Read Exodus 20; Matthew 22:36-40; John 14:15-17; Ephesians 4:17-32; 1 Corinthians 3:16-17; Romans 8:1-11 and Galatians 5:13-26.
THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST AND TRANSLATION OF BELIEVERS
Jesus Christ will come again to Earth in glory and in power. The dead in Christ will rise first and those alive in Christ will be in the presence of God for eternity.
